Did I kill it?

My of my Fig trees 2 years old Brown Turkey grown out the pot. I transplanted it into a larger Pot. I mixed equal amounts of Topsoil, Humus, and peat moss. Even I had a handful of fertilizer in the mix. Later I realized the handful was not fertilizer but ice melting salt. Was a mistake. I watered it fully twice hoping the salt will melt and get drained. Did I kill it?

I would remove it from the pot and remove as much soil as possible from the rootball, then repot it using a fresh potting mixture with no salt. If it is still dormant you might be ok. Hopefully when you watered it didn't allow the salt to penetrate everywhere into the rootball.

And keep the salt bags away from the gardening stuff.
