My fig trees orchard is getting bigger I planning to add 14 trees to the 15 trees I already have. The weed and grass grows crazy around the trees. I found that it takes too much time and efforts to clean it by hand especially with the addition of the new trees. I stumbled on an electric tiller called Greenwork. It is a small electric tiller with 8 Amp engine, it has tree tilling depth. I guess I am going to use it to till the vegetable garden I hope. My question is can I use it around the fig trees to kill the weed and grass. My concern is can the tines kill or damage the roots of the trees. How close to the trees can I use it. I am not really sure how powerful it is. My guess is that since it is only 8 Amp electric motor it is not as powerful as the gas one. How many inches does this thing go deep to may hurt the roots. Does any one has experience with tilling around his Fig Trees with some thing similar to the one I have (a weak one)
