when to get cuttings?

apologies if this has been addressed, but when is the best time to get cuttings? my cousin has a fig tree here in LA, and i wonder when would be the best time to get some.

People make fun of me sometimes for using too many words, but ....

A better answer might be, "Any time of year, but if you plan to propogate from said wood, the best time is any time AFTER the leaves drop for the season and BEFORE the leaves start to re-emerge"

Mid winter is perfect, hence why now is the perfect time.

You can take cuttings before you think you will have a freeze that will kill your fig trees. Then put them in the refrigerator.
Then take your cuttings before they start to grow in the spring.

After you get the cuttings you can grew them the way the professionals grow cuttings.

I take a 3/4 inch pipe and drive it in the ground where I want the fig to grow. I place the cutting in the ground with one bud above ground. Then keep it watered.
