| gorgi or Martin, quick question for you or anyone. I want to try my luck with figs. I'm about 1 hr north of New York City in the Hudson Valley. zn6 What varieties are ground hardy in my area. I know it will still require some winter maintenance and cover. Thanks, Rich |

Going by Herman's (NJ) expertise; go for short-season (small-fruit) such as Hardy Chicago, Sal's (EL), Marseilles Black and Celeste. First grow in pots for 2-4 years, then ingrond, as trimmed-down bushes (for easier winter protection). |
