Vista Mission is pretty prolific but I don't know how well it will do for you in GA.

Adriatic and Kadota (Dottato) are the most prolific figs in my collection from year to year.

In cold climates:zone 7,6, without protection,and inground,nothing produces better than Marseilles vs black.

I suppose you care what the fig tastes like?

I have a green fig that grows very good, but I don't like the figs very much.

I plant Brown Turkey cuttings. They are delcious to taste.
From 2 small cutting growing I planted them in the spring of 2008. A little over three years old. Last year in 2010 I picked 41 pound of figs.

Goatster, If you are interested in planting cuttings go to the link above that tells you how.
I planted five cuttings today. Take the cuttings about 12 inches long, and plant them in the ground with one bud above the ground. About all of them live.
I dig the hole, and fill it with some compost, I then drive a 3/4 inch pipe in the ground, and insert the cuttings. 12 inches is pretty deep. The cuttings I took last year had figs on them. Small.

If you want more figs plant more cuttings.
