Interested in growing figs.

Hello. Spring is coming and I am looking to add plants to my patio garden. I was thinking of getting a couple of figs for fruit, and need advice.
As stated above, I live in Southeast Idaho, where winters can have several weeks of -30 temps. I live in an apartment with a southern patio, off the patio is a small storage shed. I am pretty sure that even with mulch potted figs would not survive in the shed in those temps, so the plants would have to spend the winter in my apartment at 73 degrees.
Are figs an option in my situation? If they are, what would the best figs be and where can I purchase them?
Thank you.
Ruth
