I love all the nice/bizzare trees shown on the Socotran
Islands web site you mentioned above.

I am not an expert, but the F.socotran shown does awefully look like a (giant) Desert Rose?

I have also seen some rather similar pics of a tender
African (upside-down) tree, Boabab (Adansonia).
