Earliest producing variety of figs?

Does anyone have suggestions for the earliest ripenening fig varieties? I can store my fig tree in a pot in my unheated basement.

Both my grandfathers grew figs in the south. I would like to move further south someday and be able to plant the figs in the soil, for now they will have to live in pots.

The earliest figs are brebas. So a variety that reliably produces a breba crop would be what you're looking for. Desert King is a well known example of a fig that produces good brebas.

Thank you for the suggestion. I looked up some older posts about DK and found some very nice pictures. They actually grew in Canada over the winter with special protection in the ground.
