From what I understand, the mold will eventually kill the cutting. Mine also grew mold from the newspaper in a baggie method. What I did was pulled all of the cuttings out and washed the baggie with scorching hot water and soap. Then I wiped all of the mold from each cutting with just some regular toilet paper. They did start to grow it back a little, but I've been vigilant in keeping it at bay just by wiping it off. So far I have a cutting with roots over an inch long and another that's finally poking through.

There are methods with the peroxide to sterilize, but if you're still getting mold after all of that, then your medium is staying too moist. Open the container up for a little while (if you have it in a closed environment) and let it air out for a bit, then re-close the container and keep an eye on it.

Yes. this is mold. so far this occured to me only twice. each time on one cutting of the time. while adjacent cutting from the same tree would be perfectly fine. nothing I have done to clean it ever worked! from some other members I learned, if it wants to go this way discard it ASAP and forget it. I understand this may not be the answer you would like, but this is reality I accepted.
