How to root cuttings questions

rgvnewf

I have just received some fig cuttings to root and I need to have a few questions answered to make sure I am doing it right. I have chosen to use the damp sphagnum moss in a plastic shoe box method, but here are the questions to what I am unsure about:
1.What temperature should I have the cuttings at. Is "normal" room temperature fine or should it be higher (such as putting the box on top of a fridge).
2. How damp should I keep the sphagnum moss
3. Does it matter if the cuttings are kept in a dark place or should the room receive light
4. How often should I poke around to check on the cuttings to see if anything is happening
5. On average, how long does it take a fig cutting to start to develope roots

The varieties that I have are Brown Turkey, Capelas Azores, Lattalurra, and Nero. This is my first attempt at rooting fig cuttings, so any answers to these questions would be helpful.

Thanks,
Rob
