 o
Mission Fig in Houston?

I kept my fingers crossed and waited a long while this spring before deciding that my Petite Negra had given up the gost due to the hard freezes we had over the winter.

After quite a bit of research, I have decided to replace it with a Mission fig; however, finding a definite Mission around Houston this time of year has proven impossible. I've tried all of the local nurseries from Galveston to Friendswood and Clear Lake to no avail - even Maas nursery in Seabrook was a bust. Houston Garden Centers have a few labelled Mission, but their grower's tag shows them as Texas Everbearing.

Does anyone in the Houston area have knowledge of where I might acquire this elusive fig tree? I would like to avoid ordering abroad and shipping unless its the last resort.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Steven
