Hi new to the forum. I have 5 varities, live in Willamette valley, and hoping to reach members who live in Area of Eugene.My questions

1. Stella and Desert king I plan on planting in full sun, out in the open. Stella is small 2 ft tall, Maybe next year? And desert king is 4 ft tall. Will I get fruit without the shelter of a building?

2.I have Black spanish and Negronne and Black Jack I hope to plant on Southwest with 8hrs of sun, and more heat by building.Here again all three are small 2ft. I saw somewhere you should give them a couple years before you plant outside. Any suggestions? regards, chris

Really it depends how cruel your winter weather is. I am in zone 7 and our winter weather is cruel. I don't plant my Figs outside until the trees are mature enough to stand the weather. Otherwise if I live in California or south Florida I will plant them outside from day one.
