2 year celeste fig

I have a celeste fig planted in zone 7b Raleigh Durham, which died back the first winter. Last year it came back well and had good new growth. This winter I protected it and it survived unharmed. It now has 3 o 4 figs on the main trunk. Is it strong enough to produce a few figs, or should I remove them.

Mc.. I live in New Bern,NC I have a 10 ft Brown Turkey
Has never froze. I just planted a Celeste (24inches) and a Desert King (24inches).
I hope that they do not freeze. Your statement about regrowth has me hopeful! Good luck! Enjoy
