can small end of season figs resume growing in the spring?

i have some small figs growing on my petit negron tree that i believe had started growing at the end of last season and then went dormant when the cold hit- is that possible? can very small figs go dormant in the falland then resume growing in the spring?

I can't speak for where you live but here in the desert the answer is yes.

Any unripe figs from the previous season will not make it through the winter in my yard. That is why I remove them in the fall.
