I went to a Agriculture conference There were a lot of question from attendees to panel of 6 people suppose to be experts. I asked a question about how can I avoid rotting of Fig cuttings. The answer was regardless of the kind of cuttings, Figs, Grapes or whatever and regardless of the method I am using the cuttings should be dipped for 5 minutes into a solution of water and Captan. The method is to use 3 level teaspoons of Captan powder to a gallon of water. Also recommended to drench the medium a little whatever it is moss, soil or perlite. When rooting hormone was mentioned by another attendee the answer was it is up to you and is not really necessary because nature works best. Have not tried this but I will.
