Alive or Dead?

Okay, I made the mistake of leaving out my containerized fig this past winter. Should either have had it in the ground or provided some shelter. Still has not sprouted out yet and it's been a fairly mild Spring so far. The Stem beneath the surface is still green though. Is it just still too early or do they just need real heat to get going.--Temps have averaged in the low to mid 70's but it was been as warm as 93 F back in early April. Thanks in advance.

They should have sprouted back by now if they're still alive. I would give it another week, if no signs of life then they're gone.

RE: Alive or Dead?

Ditto what Bass said. It should have sprouted back by now. That happened to me on 4 of my huge containter trees. Two bounced back and are a foot tall. The other 2 are dead as a door nail!
