george.. I don't know the exact p.h.
But, I live on east coast, the soil is acidic, not like west of Mississippi river.
Each Spring , I just put a coffee mug full of hydrated lime, the bag says "to sweeten soils" around each of my in-ground figs.
It is very light,white powder , that waters into the ground very easily. It reduces the acid in the soil, I think. I truly have never checked, but It must combat the acid from all the pine needles,etc.
This is just my routine. Seems to work. Fred

Healthy trees like Hardy Chicago,Marseilles vs black,Martini,will grow just fine in PH 6,and 6.5(that is what I have),but chalanged cultivars:Calvert,Ischia Black,Verdal Longue,Black fig #1,California Mission,etc have a hard time in ACIDIC SOIL.
