New Potted Black Jack Fig Tree

We recently purchased a potted Black (Jack?) Fig tree through friends who are into exotic fruits. The lady was kind enough to even provide a spray bottle of Epson Salt Solution to spray on the Leaves Daily. The first things I noticed was some of the leaves were getting black spots all over, and wrinkling up and turning black and dying.
The local Garden center advised to cut out the Epson Salts
solution. I did. Then we decided to tranplant it into a large pot [24" across and 18" tall. I placed a layer of lava rock on the bottom of the pot a single layer of screen, and a nice layer of Miracle-Gro Potting soil, and in the center, the root-bundle of the potted tree. (cut off the plasatic-pot) Since then the leaves still have a black spots, and some of the leaves are still wrinkling up. I'm following the guidelines for transplanting a fig tree into a larger pot. What else must I do to get this tree through this apparent difficult time. It's getting watered properly. Any advice will be appreciated.

I think it would be best to just leave it alone and let it recover. Don't overwater. It will probably be OK, but it needs stability, and this isn't the time of year to be making major changes to its environment. I'd keep it out of full sun for a week or so. Then gradually increase sun exposure as it appears to be doing OK.
