i am totally new to figs. please help me understand if we can plant figs outdoor or not?

Yes, you can.

...but it might be a struggle to get figs to ripen. Ripening figs depends on your climate and the varieties you choose.

If you live in a mild winter climate like me, it's no problem at all. They love it. The farther north you live though, the more protection your figs will need from freezing. But some members also report that figs that have frozen to the ground usually spring right back up.

What climate zone do you live in?
