Just when I thought I had a handle on figs...

It appears that I'm killing my little fig tree :(.

I have a Peter's Honey which was potted from a rooted cutting last season. It grew very well and produced about 1 doz figs for me. I was pleased and thought it was extremely healthy. So this spring just after bud break I transplanted it and another potted fig into the ground.

Well 3 months later the other fig is doing fine just a few feet away but the PH is yellowing fast. They both get the same sun, soil and water. The PH leaves will no doubt drop soon. What may I have done wrong?
