I have a fig tree planted in an area of my garden where it only gets about 3 1/2 hours of sun. from 2pm to 5:30, it that enough? its still a small tree, do you guys think it will produce fruit, some people say that shade is not a proplem, and some say that they need full sun.

My guess is that the tree will survive just fine, but may not produce a significant amount of (or any) fruit. As it gets taller, it may get more sunlight, depending on what's shading it. But if that happens, your fruit will be high up on the tree.

You need at least 6 hours of sunlight. It will grow but not ripen the figs.
