One Year Old Plant Not Leafing Yet

Geoff S

I have three potted plants that I started from cuttings and airlayers last year...so they're less than one year old. I kept them in the garage with my other fig trees over the winter, as I do every year. All the other trees are leafed out and healthy, including several one-year-olds.

I am wondering how long to hold out on having the three start to leaf out. It's June already, so I've almost given up hope.

One of the trees just looks dead, but two others are plump and do not look dried out. They are single stalks and have green leaf buds at the top.

Any thoughts about how to check if they might be viable without damaging them too much? Thoughts about how to support them if there is viability?

Thanks,
Geoff
