 o
Celeste at Whole Foods

The local Whole Foods supermarket is now stocking two varieties of fig trees in it's home gardening section...celeste and brown turkey.

Does anyone have any experience with these plants from Whole Foods regarding health, accuracy of labeling, etc? As a side note, I did end up returning starter plants labeled as genovese basil...which it was clearly not.

Also, if I do decide to buy a Celeste ($20), any tips on what to look for in terms of identification...leaves, etc.

Thanks,
Geoff

For that price, I'd go to a reputable nursery nearby and be sure of what you are getting.

You should look at the nursery label who sold it to Whole Foods. Every plant I've seen at my local Whole Foods in San Jose still has the original nursery tag in it. Then you can reference that nursery (google search/call them) for reputation.
