Yes:It does not have the right condition ,to grow in a pot,
and it will not be easy for you to make it happy in a pot.
Your climate is hot,and that is why is not easy.
Bury the pot about half inground,and water more often.

Also make sure the pot has good drainage,and ph of the soil is:8-neutral.

Your tree really looks unhappy,and I fill sorry for the little guy.

From the looks, I'm not sure it is a 'Petite Negra', I have included a photo of my plant for you to compair. I use cleated iron and other natural orgainc fertilizers and very good well drained soil also organic. Good luck with your little fig.

Yeap, I agree. The tree is suffering like a tight foot in a small shoe! Those leaves will eventually fall off if the stress continues. My Petite Negra is in the ground and the leaves are huge! I've been picking figs about every 2 weeks or so. Do what Herman2 said or upsize your pot. Your tree will thank you for it! Cheers, Dennis
