Looks like sun burn to me. You can't just move a plant or tree from indoors to outdoors. You have to harden them off.

bingo thisisme is spot on, it happens to everyone at first! the best thing for it is heavy shade for about a week or so then slowly introduce more light. give it plenty of TLC because now it will have trouble processing sunlight into food I lost my only Madeleine des deux saisons tree this way,but yours don't look too bad. Had the exact same thing happen to me last week. I bought a Chicago Hardy from the local greenhouse, where I'm assuming it had been since it was planted as a cutting. Planted it in a very sunny spot of my yard and let it sit for a week with good results in overcast/rainy conditions. Then the sun came and we had a small heat wave at the end of last week. After a few days in the heat and sun the leaves were burnt to a crisp.

My guess is that its fine, especially since the new buds look very healthy and the tree continues to grow. I forgot all about the concept of hardening off and just planted them. I was too excited to let it sit in the shade! Oh well, lesson learned for next time. Hope your new fig recovers.
