That is not a fig, you are in a wrong forum. But break a twig if its green its still alive but if its brown keep going down until green but if it has no green in it then, I am sorry, your plant has passed away.

You can try at the tree forum but what kind of ficus plant is it? And you can stay here and wait while having the other at another forum. How long has the plant have been looking like this? And what zone do you live in and how long has the plant been in the soil? Is the soil slow to drain? Because I think that most plants of the ficus genus are evergreen but they like sun so do you have it in a southern or western window?

@Greenthumb.5 I did as you suggested and cut back looking for green. There was none. I did a bit more research that suggested scraping the bark at the base to see if there was green under it and there was also none. I took it out of the pot to have a look at the roots and sure enough the roots had rotted. It appears as though the last re-potting (over a year ago) didn't help...it never expanded into the new pot and the roots remained clumped in the original pot's shape.
