Most current trend in rooting fig cuttings?

Forgive me for bringing the same old subject up again. I have been looking at old posts to see what to do with rooted cuttings that have no bud growth. It seems that the information on this forum has evolved over the years and so I want to get the most current info.

I bought cuttings off of Ebay last October and held them refrigerated until a week ago. I also got some from ARS GRIN. The Old Brooklyn that I got off Ebay are putting out roots at each node but no leaf buds. Currently they are in green sphagnum moss.

Shall I repot the rooted cuttings with no terminal node and no bud growth horizontally? One post I read said that if there is no bud the cutting will put out roots and then die because there is no bud to push. At what point do I decide they have enough root growth to pot up?
