Some of my fig labels are badly faded and two of them seem to say "Hyland". Does anyone recognize that name or know of a variety with a similar name that I might be misreading?

That name does seem familiar, but I'm unable to track down my grow list on my semi-defunct old computer to see what I should have. I almost certainly got the original cuttings from somebody here, probably in 2011.

A word search didn't find any mention of Hyland in postings in this forum, it isn't on the national fig germplasm repository list and Google didn't lead me to an answer either, although I did rediscover that Brian Hyland sang Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. That's a memory I could have done without.

One moral of this story is to do proper labels - I found a Venetian blind someone threw out and I'm now repurposing the slats. That might save me from a future search for a fig variety with Chicago in the name and being reminded of a song whose name shall not be spoken.
