Limestone Question

I have seen a number of posts stating that limestone is a good top dressing for fig trees. Is this the same as "pelletized lime" used for lawns to lower the soil pH level and sold in the garden section of big-box stores? Is this something else?

Yes,it is used for lawn,too.
But not to lower the PH,but to raise it up,when soil is too acidic!

I made the same mistake

Acid down
Neutral 7
Base- Up

It's good as a top dressing but if repotting at anypoint try to throw a bunch in to the soil mix.
