does anyone have a link to a video showing how to prune a fig tree? or can anyone explain how to do so?

Pruning a fig tree follows the same basic rules that you would use for pruning any other tree.

Because you haven't given us too much information, we do not know if this is a small tree, a large, over-grown tree, a multi-stemmed bush, etc...nor do we know, what you have in mind for the ultimate goal.

You-Tube has some basic pruning videos, and a few specifically for fig trees.

Hope this might help you. Fig trees can be pruned back hard, and they will put out tremendous amounts of new growth, so mistakes are quickly covered over by new growth.

If this is your first attempt at pruning, go slowly, and do the job in stages.

lol, I hate to jump in like this but send me some of the cuttings if your not doing anything with them. I'd gladly pay postage on them. I live in zone 7b-8 and I'm not sure if it helps but I train my trees to grow into a bush. the taller the plant the better the chance of winter damage. plus it makes it easy to pick the figs.
