Hi Streganonna, this will be my first first fig, too, on a celeste fig bush. I bought that bush back in 2010 along with 3 other brown turkey fig bushes at different times during the summer months. The celeste had figs last year that fell off before the ripening season, and this year, I have a fig reaching maturity, it is a purplish brown color just like yours. I started to snatch that fig off but it felt hard to the touch. I said I would give it a few days more and then I will have my first fig to eat too! I am sure looking forward to it. I heard that these figs are delicious too. Enjoy!
