First time growing a fig tree..please help

Hi all,
I am a beginner gardener living in Baltimore. I bought a fig tree from Home Depot about 3 weeks ago. It looked healthy and had little figs. No idea what variety. Immediately transplanted it into the ground where it receives full day of sun. I have been watering it regularly and also pinching it. The figs have grown in size and now have a reddish tinge. The leaves also have a reddish tinge on the back that wasn't there before. I am also concerned about discoloration of the leaves.
Please help! I don't know what to do... And if any of you kind folks have thoughts about what variety of fig tree it is, I would greatly appreciate it.

I suspect the red stems and veining on the back are typical of this fig variety and not anything to worry about. The mottling on the front of the leaf and misshapen leaf could be a little fig mosaic (again not anything to worry about). Someone else will have to tell you the variety. Maybe post a picture of the fig here and/or figs for fun.

I agree with scott_ga: Nothing to worry about. Fig mosaic virus affects hundreds of fig varieties and in my experience doesn't harm anything much except the appearance. As for species, there are many, and figs can be hard to identify, although pictures of the ripe fruit exterior, what it looks like cut open, and the dimensions can help in an ID.
