I'm new to figs too,but the purple ones look like they are brown turkey

The eye is too small and the center is not as red as BT would be. Also the leaves do not match.

It looks like it is maybe related to Barnisotte. If you would like to trade some cuttings from that one you would be quite popular ; )

Hmmmm, I have a clue. The owner who has passed on now, said that both trees came back from Portugal and the kids have no idea what kind they are but remember them being planted as a child some 30+yrs ago.

Very interesting! I am from continental Portugal (south) and cannot remember of any fig similar to yours around here.
Any idea of the region where the owner brought the trees from?
They look varieties from either Açores or Madeira, particularly the green fig, looks like 'BACORINHO' from Madeira
The black fig could be 'CASTANHOL' also from Madera but not sure..
