Brunswick (Magnolia) is a very good fig under the right conditions (hot and dry) - large, rich and sweet. According to one source, it is the same as Khurtmani, one of the best figs in Israel. It is true that with too much rain or watering, it splits badly, but the same can be said for many figs. Years ago, there was a substantial area south of Houston, Texas that grew Brunswick figs to make preserves.
