In the test forum it shows that I can upload pictures to the messages. When I try to add a picture to this forum it will not let me. Can someone help me with this. It will not let me copy and paste or upload. Thank you very much for your time.

Thanks Herman, I will try my luck with getting ths picture posted. My parents sent me a newspaper clipping from The Philadelphia Inquirer (Aug.17)about a family that had a fig tree for 65 years. Three generations of that family have taken cutting of that tree. There were also a couple of recipes in that article.

    Hello,

I hear this problem of displaying pictures on this forum
over and over again. I went through it myself, and still
have to refer to my saved example when I need to!

Looking at some other forums, I see a camera icon next to
    them with a footnote saying:
This image denotes forums which have galleries and allow image uploads.

Wonder if this would make life easier for us fig-people,
and what it takes for the GW to grant us this feature...

George I agree with you there has got to be an easier way to get a picture on this site. My daughter-in-law and I worked a couple of hours Friday night tring to get a picture up loaded. We finally posted the how to. Thanks to Herman, my new computer guru :), I got the picture posted. Any chance you know what the fig is?

I will grab the bull by the horns, and pursue GW about
this pic problem (unless someone else offers some easy
    solution/explaination). Maybe KKfromNJ?!...
I had some initial problems with his pics; now I see
that he went much further... Posts hiper-active ~2"
square ones that gets full blown when clicked...
    how come?

I can't take credit for that, photobucket generates the code for you, just paste it in.

    Pl, explain how...

After you get your photos on Photobucket, click the little checkbox under your picture, go to the bottom and click "Generate HTML and IMG code", copy the 1st set of code into your mesage, they give you different versions for different applications. The 1st set works for GW. They also generate the thumbnail pic automatically. Pretty slick.

Make sure you copy all of the code which usually makes up more than the little window they give you. I usually remove the "center" parameter. I have a left sided brain :)

    Ok thanks, KK;

I also have Photobucket as my photo server.
The keyword for your little pic trick is 'thumbnail'.
I will use the GW-Test forum to experiment...

Beside this point, also, another good feature about pics,
is the ability to edit them and add some 'text'. A recent
example is the good pic Jon posted with multiple fig
cultivars with a text 'list' explaining which is which.
Then Gene edited the same pic with the text embedded
in the same pic ... awesome. This is probably not a GW
issue. I have a copy of Photosuite that came with my PC
when I bought it. I could have done something like that
then. Now that the initial trail has expired, it asks me
    for some payable update...

People say that one pic is worth a thousand words...
I say multiply that by another 1000 as far as figs
    are concerned...

There we go, I forgot to look closly at the preview,
so here it is again (GW-Test)...

    NOTICE HOW,
A prevoius harmless 'cartoon like' picture by a member and
some of MY comments about how the asministrator of this
GW-FF did NOT respond to my questions about how to make
it any easyier, MESTERIOUSLY and SILENTLY VANISHED!
    WHO IS IN CHARGE???
Do not be susprised that I too may be soon banquished from
    here....
