I am also trying to find information on the Magnolia fig, it is not one that has been discussed recently. The nurseries I deal with sell the usual Black Mission, Celeste and Brown Turkey.

I have a Magnolia fig, which I have had for about 20 years. Your pictures are not the same as mine. My magnolia has a lighter amber color, not the reddish pink yours has, and the external appearance is also a much lighter brown than yours. It is a very good fig, except when the weather is very wet at the time of maturation. It has an open eye, and rots easily under those conditions. This year has been very dry and hot in NC, and the Magnolia was a great producer of very good figs. The best distinguishing characteristic of the Magnolia is its leaf. It has an "okra shaped" leaf, with very deep indentations and long lobes. I will attach a photo of the fruit and leaf.

Rafed, your fig is not a Magnolia (AKA Brunswick). Brunswick looks like harvey12's fig. I have one and the fruit are excellent during DRY periods. It cannot tolerate much rain nor is it bug resistant because of the open eye and it splitting easily.
