Cuttings in Gritty Mix

Is anyone using gritty mix to root their fig cuttings? How does it work for you?

I'm experimenting with different mixes and methods, trying to get my success % up before my Davis fig cuttings arrive next spring. Gritty mix is expensive, but I really want those cuttings to root and grow!

The cuttings I'm experimenting on are doing fine, but none of them are figs. Fig specific information would be appreciated.

I've got some in a mix of fine composted bark fines (too small for gritty mix), course sand, and perlite. Both those and the gritty mix cutting seem to be doing OK (so far, so good), but they are blueberries and brambles, so maybe not wanting the same conditions to root as will make figs happy.
