Ciao Leon, I don't know if I would want to eat something referred, my Italian could be wrong, but " Merdoscola to me means something bad in Italian I won't post here. Do you know the meaning of this word? For some reason I get wierd feeling when I see this word. You say they taste very good, thats really nice, maybe my translation is fading as I get older, I don't know. It is a kind of Melanzana, but the description is bad. They do look very beatiful!!!! Ya, I seen posting on the translation of MM something like "SH*T". Well, if it is sh*t, this piece of sh*t is a great keeper as Leon said. I won't have problems keeping it & truly I would enjoy telling friends I have grown a piece of sh*t & its great tasting. This is a great line to laugh at. The most gross fruit I have tried is DURIAN. It is VERY expensive & considered King Of Fruits in Asia. At one time I can't bear the smell of it but now, I love the taste but not the smell. A relative of mine in USA could not breath when he had a durian in the boot of his car. He called ahead for us to stop so that he could come to our car. His poor wife took over the wheel. So much for his durian experience. Italiangirl -- its all in jest OK.

Italian girl, I know exactly what you're saying. I was almost afraid to post the photos due to the nature of the fig name but it is a variety that originates from a Canadian collector and so I know no other way to list it.
It has to be one of my favorite figs so far. It has done super well here in New Mexico. Too bad it is given such a name. By the way, your other little fig tree is on it's way soon. Ciao!
