Sick fig

I have a friend who has a 5-10 yr old fig tree that was there when he bought his house. He doesn't know what kind it is. It mostly has 5 lobed leaves but some 3 lobed, some triangular and a few mitten shaped leaves. We had an unusually cool, wet June. He usually gets several gallons of purple figs but this year most have dropped, a few are trying to ripen. He has some branches where the growing tips have turned black, others that are horizontal instead of turning up, and yellow spots on the leaves. Another, seemingly same type of fig "bush" down the hill is unaffected. Photos are at the link below.

We'd like to know:

1. What kind of fig it is

2. What's wrong

3. What can we do about it

My camera batteries died so I couldn't get the blackened tips. I can go back and get more photos (especially of the 5 lobed leaves) if it would be helpful.

Thanks!

Bob C.
