I can tell you that it is not Kadota. Kadota skin when ripening will turn from green to yellow, also inside of Kadota fruit is tan to amber. I should have checked your leaf to see if green ischia. Sorry about that, but as a early guess, i'll go with that. There are people with much more know how that will chime in. I will say, it's a beauty. How does it taste?

Hi Luke. Thanks for weighing in. As to taste, the fruit is sweet with a tangy note. Because it is my first fig crop ever I absolutely love it - but must admit that the flavor, while good, isn't off-the-charts. Perhaps a 5/10?

I may have been picking the figs a little early and the tree is young yet. I remember the fruit from the parent having better taste and texture.

Give it a few years to mature, before you judge the taste. It will get better. By the looks, you might be picking the figs a little to soon. This fig will most likely show white like cracks when super ripe. Now some like their figs not as ripe, while others like them all the way ripe. I do not have this fig, so my answer might b of a bit. I also think when riper, the red will be closer to the skin.
