Fig tree with leaves like an Avacado???

I currently live in Valley Center California, and can't wait to plant some fig trees. While serching out my current home I came across a a home in Ramona (40 minutes away) that had a fig tree with fruit on it. They were small smooth and yellow in color. May have had white spots. The flesh was pretty much the same color. The fruit was almost like a grape. Nothing short of fantastic. I have searched the web for a likely candidate, but can not find one that is a dead ringer. Other things of note, the typical lobed leaf was absent. This trees leaves were long dark and fuzzy with a sheen below the fuzz. Any ideas? Oh and it was I'm thinking February when we stumbled on that house. I keep thinking I should go back and try to get something I can plant. DO fig trees grow from the fruit?

Thanks so much!

Jon
