fertilizer thing.

i got my plants few weeks ago. i put some fertilizer beads on top when i repotted the plants, but didn't do any fertilizer since i figure that it will go dormant sometime soon. but with weather being still above 80-85 degree here, the plants are getting new leaves.

do i skip fertilizer till coming spring? or should i help the plants a little?

these are about 12" very young plants.

Where you live has an impact on advice. You might consider adding your USDA zone and/or a large city near you to your user info. Are the 'beads' you're referring to a CRF, like Osmocote? If so, it's unlikely they will need additional supplementation, but even that comment needs to be tempered by considering how much you applied .....

i live in durham/raleigh area of north carolina. in the middle of that they call RTP area. the USDA zone is 7. i put a tablespoon of osmocote stuff on 12" pot.

That's about right, as far as the amount. Release rates of Osmocote are almost entirely temperature driven, with little product making its way into cool soils. I would watch leaf color in the spring & apply next when you first start to suspect leaves aren't as green as you think they should be.
