Recycling Tapla Mix

Hi All,

when you repot/root prune etc as Tapla suggests (so far its worked great for me), can you do anything with the old potting mix that you knock off the roots?. ie. can you reuse the turf/gran/pinebark in another repot if I "freshen" it up a bit?

I guess this question relates to all potting mixes.

I don't reuse potting soils. The used gritty mix goes into my raised beds, and any used 5:1:1 mix goes directly on the garden as mulch, or on the compost pile. I know some people dry the used gritty mix & then float the organic fraction of the used soil off by dumping it in a wheel barrow filled with water & skimming off what floats, reusing the granite and Turface that's left.
