Help! Indian Laurels dropping leaves, sticky leaves, curled

Hi,

I am hoping I can get some good ideas here as to what is happening with our seven foot tall indian laurels (I read that they are variety of fig).

They were lush and green a few weeks ago then half of them suddenly dropped almost all of their leaves from their lower half while some of the top leaves curled. I had noticed what appeared to be white fly for a while before then the leaves got sticky and sappy. Now the other half of my laurels are starting to show this too. I just planted another 30 that are only 40" or so tall so I am really keen on heading this off. Thanks in advance. Pix links:

The first step is to identify the pest, but in most cases, you'll find Bayer Advanced 3-in-1 Insect Disease & Mite Control will handily take care of any insects that feed on sap. You'll want the concentrate. In addition to the systemic insecticide (Imidacloprid), it also has a miticide (forget the name) and a systemic fungicide (Tebuconazole).
