I do have a very small Bayernfeige Violetta, no experience
yet. So I will let others to comment, if so desired.

BECAUSE I had this and while at Belleclare, another regional
fig attracted my attention (and bought) a Der Grossen.
The mother plant is in Graz, Austia
right next to the famous Grazer Uhrturm (clocktower).

Unless it is a known cutlivar, I think that it probably
should have been named something like 'Grazer'...

Described as large purple-brown with red center.

Gorgi if you don't mind me asking, where did you get yours? I got mine from Duetschland.

I've seen that the Violetta is now available in the US. Curiously it's only available in nurseries in WA + OR.

Just wondering has anyone tried leaving this fig uncovered in zone 6?I saw that Cloudmountin nursery has it for sale.Thanks

Mine is still small. I have it in a container. I will try it next year in the ground. However from what others observed, this fig is probably only as hardy as hardy chicago, and the fruit is similar to brown turkey. I didn't get fruit on mine yet.
