New growth from cutting

Hey all, I was fooling around with one of the negronne cuttings that forum member Rafed sent me. I was going to wait til spring, but being the instant gratification type that I am i decided to grow one. Well, with no problems at all, i now have a "baby" tree. So, my question is once I pot it up(it'still buried horizontal in a sterlite box with obvious growth), what would be the preferred method to keep it growing and healthy throughtout the winter here in Connecticut? i guess my main concerns are proper heat, light, and water. any help would be appreciated.

Its a bit early but it can be done with good results if you have a large window, (I won't say "sunny" because here in CT we haven't had much sun.)

I keep mine in a large window that gets pleanty of light, under normal house heat conditions of about 70* and less at night, and treat it as I would any house plant. They seem to attract knats as they grow. If they do I spray with soapy water or Knats Begone from Gardens Alive.

I don't usually start mine until the very end of Dec. or first part of Jan. and they are usually nice healthy plants by the time I can put them outside during the day, hardening them off gradually. Depending on the variety they will bear fruit too.

It works for me,
Good luck,
Peg

I know what you mean about the Sun and early starting. I'll probably start some of my single varieties earlier than usual too. I want insurance in the event the parent dies or has an accident. LOL. Its just a matter of where you can keep them. I extended a long book shelf on two lawn tables in front of my six ft. wide window that faces East. If we get any sun they will get it until about noon time with bright light for the rest of the day.

Getting them rooted is the hard part. With a little common sense the rest is easy. Except the annoying knats.
