I can see which figs already seem to tolerate cold more. I can see the ones w/o die back. Very interesting:

What kind of temps have you been getting?

Last night we hit 37 degrees here. That's our lowest so far.

We hit 24F last night or -4C. The BC Malta black so far has been a fighter against the cold. Im going to my orchard in a few minutes and will write down the varieties that show no die back.

I meant to comment on this before. Your trees appear to be planted pretty close together. Like...8 or 9 feet. Are these going to be large trees?

The trees are spaced around 8 feet apart. I am going to keep them short and shaped.
