Cecil: I don't have any personal experience with HC. But sent you an email this week telling you that I take a left at Elkhart to go to Fairfield to see my old father. I'll drop off a seedling this spring to add to your orchard. young

I am zone 8 but usually cool summers. HC is one of my best. Not great for breba, but the main crop is earlier than my other figs, and produces over a month's time span. it is a young tree, about 5 years old. this year it had about 50 figs.

Cecil, Hardy Chicago has been a very good fig in our long, hot and humid weather. It is the first fig to start shutting down in late summer which contributes to its hardiness. The quality is very good. Jack

Hi Cecil, So far Hardy Chicago has been good here. Fairly tasty and doesn't split. Not as sweet and juicy as some other figs, but very productive. Scott

Hardy Chicago is a good fig for the northeast. It's vigorous enough and early enough to bear for us here. One negative thing about it, if the tree is left unpruned its productivity will decline. Bass
