help with fig tree problems

gretagreenthumb

My tree has been in the ground for one year. It produced wonderful figs this season. But, all season I thought the limbs seemed to be leaning too much -- more horizontal than vertical. Never having grown figs before, I didn't know what to think. Well, today those limbs just broke off at the ground -- with no effort on my part. . . all 3 of them. I've done a bit of research and now wonder if they had worms that attacked the roots. Any ideas?

Think it will survive or have I probably lost my tree?

Advice and experience appreciated. Thanks!
