It is good time to start from rooting point of view i.e. they will root if you provide proper environments but it will be a long time before they will have a chance to go outside in the spring sunshine and so will require maintenance over a longer period. That is if you are rooting it inside. I have already rooted a few cuttings and some have good roots and leaves.

The good way is to follow nature.
The figs never roots in winter, and even do not make the leaves.
If you put the cuttings in a position to root, must then continue with the growth conditions, which are not so simple, enough heat and humidity but also need a lot of light.
